Avast has been around protecting computers since Windows 95. It has one so many awards that they are hard to list. I always keep this application on my computer and keep it updated. I use it as an additional resource with AVG Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy. Links to both of these other programs can be foiund on the Security and Privacy page on my website. A "tongue in cheek" site that describes its purpose as being "For all those people that find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than google it for themselves." After entering a search search term a highlighted link is displayed below. Copy this link and send it to the person with the question by email. When they click on the link they get a Standard Google search screen where, following a cursor, text appears being typed into the Goole search box one letter at a time. The animated cursor then clicks the Google search button which causes a standard search results page to load. This should get you point across. |

I have used this freeware for several years. It detects and removes spyware and adware and has one of the best detection records of any similar product. Spybot is not a scaled down version of commercial software, it is just freeware. You get real-time protection and scanning capabilities with regular updates. Tracking cookies and registry changes which could be dangerous are also detected with its scanner. This is a good product. Try it. |
